Don’t get any closer to each other

This is the most interesting thing I’ve seen all year.

I don’t know how to feel about this

I feel like this has some really deep meaning. I see it as two people can be close and it can allow for something beautiful, but as soon as they get to know each other too well it becomes ugly. Because if you knew every thought in someones head, the bad might out weigh the good. And you could never undo what you have learned about them. The spots on the butterfly’s wings are human eyes which have seen the truth but have no way of revealing it, or warning you not to get closer and protect the butterfly. The butterfly is their beautifully balanced relationship threatened by the knowing/seeing of too much, or closeness. The people symbolize anyone.

I see it as two people collaborating to kill the fucking butterfly that’s been causing all these damn hurricanes.

I see it as “why the hell hasn’t that dumbass butterfly flown out of there? Maybe it’s dead already - it seems to be perfectly still despite having cold metal against its body. Furthermore, these two scissor-headed people are already joined together, seeing as there is a hinge in their function. Clearly they must have some ability to see things, otherwise why would they wear clothes? Since they must have visibility, they must be able to see the butterfly. Maybe they’re assholes and WANT to kill it. Oh they’re staying far apart and hoping the stupid butterfly flies away. Or perhaps it’s not so much that they’re assholes, but because their world is inhabited by giant butterflies that probably prey on the poor scissors-people and this is them fighting back.”

Personal space is a precarious thing, especially during a handshake. But what do I know? I only pretend to be a gentleman so I can go to the opera every now and then.

That is the Superman I like to write. No idea what is ‘corny’ or ‘old-fashioned’ about it.

Could we not have used a hero like this during recent tragedies?

I submit that Superman saving this child is a huge part of why I love him.

I am not confident about the upcoming Man of Steel movie. Because nothing about the teaser or trailer reminded me of THIS.

I just hope they don’t get caught up in his “alien” nature and miss the point entirely. Knowing Zach Snyder’s violent and borderline pornographic style and Chris Nolan’s basic inability to understand Batman or female characters leaves me with extremely low hopes for this film.
